More Canoeing Trips

The locations for our canoeing trips are beautifully unique, but still hold in all the challenges of the wilderness. No matter what course or location you choose, you are sure to be impressed with your self and your surroundings.

Our students will begin their experience at the base camp nearest the course location. There they will meet the rest of their group as well as the instructors. After a brief introduction the journey begins and the students will soon find themselves on their way to the a place they have never been but of which they will soon feel apart. The instructors will begin to teach some necessary canoeing skills, leave no trace skills and some basic backcountry techniques.

Depending on how the instructors feel about the group's progress, certain individuals may be given the opportunity to lead the rest of their peers in one or more activities. This will provide a chance to really test the leader's skills and abilities and will undoubtedly prove to be a time of priceless growth and self-realization.

Another opportunity that may take place at the discretion of the instructors is the solo experience where each student may leave the group for anywhere from a couple of hours to overnight. Although the solo experience won't take the students too far from the instructors, they will have time to reflect on what they have learned without the influence of the group.

At the end of the course, if time allows, the group will plan and carry out a service project. This will shift the focus from the needs of one's self to the needs of others. The service project is also a chance for the students to give back to their surroundings.
